How to Measure Your Foot for the Right Size

To select the correct size from our chart, follow these steps:

  1. Measure Your Foot Length

    • Place your heel against a wall on a flat surface.
    • Lay a ruler or measuring tape along the floor, starting at the wall.
    • Stand with your full weight on both feet and measure to the tip of your longest toe.
    • Measure both feet and use the longer measurement.

  2. Choose the Right Size from the Chart

    • Our size chart shows the length of the last (the mold the shoe is built on), not the foot length.
    • For a proper fit, select a size 3-5mm longer than your foot measurement.

  3. Adjust for Wide Feet

    • If you have wide feet, we recommend choosing one size larger for a more comfortable fit.

Following these guidelines ensures a snug yet comfortable fit for optimal performance on the road or track.

The Cádomotus Resizer Insoles come in four sizes, each reducing shoe size by one or two steps, allowing growing athletes to extend the use of their high-performance footwear.

  • The XS insole fits into a size 31, adjusting it to 30 or 29.
  • The S insole fits into size 34, reducing it to 33 or 32.
  • The M insole works with size 37, converting it to 36 or 35.
  • The L insole fits into size 40, making it 39 or 38.

With this system, one pair of shoes adapts to three sizes, ensuring a perfect fit as young athletes grow.

A plus (+) bridge lets you mount larger boots on a specific tube length.

Larger size boots on 17" blades

A 17" blade is standard equipped with a 170 clap arm, speedskating boots with a pitch 165, 170 and 175 like the Cádomotus 40, 41 and size 41½ blade shoes (*) fit on this clap arm. If you want to put a size 42, 43 or larger boot on your 17" skate you will need the 170+ arm.

An alternative is to mount a 180 clap arm by moving the wedge to the back. This is a feature on the R304 and R980 blades.

Larger size boots on 17.5" blades

A 17.5" blade is standard equipped with a 180 clap arm, speed skating boots with a pitch 175, 180 and 185 like the Cádomotus 41½, 42 and size 43 blade shoes (*) match perfectly. If you want to mount a size 44, 45 or larger boot on your 17.5" skate you will need the 180+ clap arm.

An alternative is to mount a 190 arm. This can be done by moving the wedge backward on R304 and R980 clap blades.

* For other speedskate brands, the pitch can be different.

Want to know more about the effect of moving the wedge. Then read this blog (in Dutch) where we explain why moving the wedge affects the stiffness of the skate, and thus the handling.
