THE ULTIMATE BLEND
OF AERODYNAMICS & COMFORT

Chronos 4E Longstance Triathlon Shoe
  • REDUCED AERODYNAMIC DRAG: A smooth aero shroud with medial-positioned zipper shields dials from the airflow, creating a cleaner leading edge for road, track or time-trial cycling
  • RACE-SECURE FIT AT SPEED: Dual micro-adjustable dials independently lock forefoot and ankle, preventing internal foot slip during high-torque and out-of-saddle efforts.
  • EFFICIENT POWER TRANSFER: High-modulus 4E flat-bottom carbon sole delivers a stable, ultra-stiff platform that converts every watt directly into forward motion.
  • PERFORMANCE FOR EVERYONE: Flat carbon chassis increases pedal contact area and reduces pressure points, accommodating a wider range of foot shapes without sacrificing stiffness.
  • TRIATHLON-READY FUNCTIONALITY: Integrated fly-mount loops and a reinforced heel pull enable fast, controlled mounts while retaining full road-shoe performance.

How to Choose Your Size:

Scan Your Feet
Follow the steps in the app. You’ll receive a detailed 3D profile of both feet.

Ask our CádoWiki Live: Instant Expert (in the bottom-right corner) for your best shoe size, or:

Use the Cádomotus Size Chart
Our chart shows the length of the last—the mold your shoe is built on—not the length of your foot.
➤ Choose a size that’s at least 3–5 mm longer than your longest foot for a snug, race-optimized fit.

Understand Width and Instep Height (1–5 Scale)
The app shows both measurements on a 1–5 scale:

  • 3 = average → standard fit

  • 2 or 4 = slightly narrow/wide or low/high → ideal for heat molding to fine-tune the fit

  • 1 or 5 = very narrow/wide or very low/high → see options below

Special Fit Cases

  • Narrow or wide feet?
If you’re in Bracket 1 or 5 for width, we recommend a custom width.
✔️ Wide versions of all CarbonShell™ shoes are available on request, with an 8-week lead time and a surcharge.
✖️ Narrow versions are not available—size down or mold for best fit.

  • Low instep?
A low instep may feel loose or unsupported. This is common among elite triathletes who often use orthopedic insoles for volume control and support.
✔️ We recommend using performance insoles to optimize fit.

  • High instep?
We do not offer high-volume shoes. Riders with a high instep should use heat molding and fine-tune strap tension for comfort and circulation.

Wide Foot Tip
If you're borderline wide (Bracket 4), you can also try sizing up one size for more space.

Following these guidelines ensures a snug yet comfortable fit for optimal performance.

Synchro Aero 4E: The Aerodynamic Road Shoe Optimized for the Technical Triathlete

The Synchro Aero 4E is designed for the athlete who prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and foot stability above all else. While a single-strap shoe like our WorldCup is the undisputed leader for raw transition speed, the Synchro Aero 4E is engineered for the "on-the-rivet" performance of the bike leg itself.

By combining a dual-dial closure system with a medial-zip aero shroud, this shoe delivers the precise, locked-in fit of a premium road shoe, with the drag reduction needed for non-drafting triathlons and time trials.

Engineering Strategy: Aero Priority

1. Drag Reduction via Medial-Zip Shroud

In a sport where seconds are won over 40km to 180km, the turbulence caused by dials and hardware matters. The Synchro Aero 4E features a smooth textile cover that encapsulates the closure system. To further refine the profile, we relocated the zipper to the medial (inner) side, removing it from the primary airflow and ensuring a cleaner leading edge on the shoe's lateral side.

2. Dual-Dial Fixation for Maximum Leverage

For daily road training and high-torque racing, foot security is paramount. The dual-dial system allows for independent tensioning of the forefoot and the ankle. This provides a level of mechanical "fixation" that single-strap shoes cannot match, preventing internal foot slip during out-of-the-saddle efforts or high-cadence intervals.

3. The "Triathlon-Ready" Road Shoe

While this is a performance road shoe first, it is not "road-exclusive." We have integrated specific functional details to ensure it remains viable for competitive triathlon:

  • Fly-Mount Ready: Built-in webbing loops allow you to use rubber bands to keep the shoes horizontal on the pedals.

  • Reinforced Heel Pull: A rugged, oversized loop allows for a secure grip when pulling the shoe on at speed, a feature missing from 99% of aero road shoes.

4. 4E Carbon Chassis: The Foundation

Built on our proven 4E flat-bottom carbon sole, the Synchro Aero 4E offers a stable, ultra-stiff platform. The flat geometry increases the contact area with the pedal, reducing "hot spots" and ensuring that every watt of energy is transferred directly into the drivetrain.

Technical Specifications

  • Chassis: 100% High-Modulus Carbon Fiber (4E Flat-Bottom)

FAQs

No. If your primary goal is the fastest possible transition (T1), the WorldCup shoe remains the specialist tool for the job. The Synchro Aero 4E is for the athlete who is willing to spend a few extra seconds in transition to gain a mechanical and aerodynamic advantage for the duration of the bike leg.

Absolutely. Because of the dual-dial closure and the high-stiffness carbon sole, the Synchro Aero 4E performs identically to a high-end road racing shoe, with the added benefit of a cleaner aero profile.

Placing the zipper on the inside of the foot keeps the shoe's lateral (outside) surface perfectly smooth. Since this side is most exposed to the wind during the pedal stroke, it minimizes air turbulence and drag.
