These springs are made in the Netherlands out of special stainless steel. They are heat treated to improve the mechanical properties and increase lifetime.

The stronger springs have 20 windings to allow a fast footspeed for sprinting, the regular springs have 26 windings and offer a longer lifetime. The regular springs are common used for long distance and marathon skating.
