Challenge’s big comeback in North America starts with Cap Quebec

18 Jul 2024

Cadomotus has recently partnered with Challenge Family for the next three years, as their official triathlon bag partner. The collaboration was a natural fit, given the similar philosophies of the two partners.

Creating New horizons:
An extended partnership between Cadomotus and Challenge Family

World leader in the organization of triathlons with more than 40 annual races across 27 countries, Challenge Family is making its comeback on North American soil this weekend, after years of absence!

Sail Challenge Cap Québec (July 19-21)

The first of three north-american events this year is the most-awaited Sail Challenge Cap Québec, organized by no other than Dominique Piché, a true master in the art of organizing large-scale triathlons!

Dominique has had Quebec City in his sights for years, and, to everyone’s excitement, the conditions have finally come together to make this first edition happen!

Offering four distances this year – Discovery, Sprint (C25), Olympic (A51) and Middle Distance (P113) –, the race will take its participants through places each more striking than the next: athletes will swim in the Louise Basin located in Quebec City's picturesque old town, bike along the Dufferin-Montgomery freeway, which will be closed for the occasion – a first! – and run through a historic UNESCO World Heritage site.

A very symbolical kickoff that is bound to be memorable!

The Origins of the Challenge x Cadomotus Partnership

This extended partnership between the two brands is tightly linked to Cap Québec and Dominique Piché.

As part of the preparations for Québec race, Dominique Piché met last year with Felix Walchshöfer from Challenge Roth, to discuss “the key elements of what makes Challenge Roth so successful”, Dominique shared. Felix “emphasized the critical role of merchandise partners and the expo experience. [He] specifically praised Cadomotus, highlighting the exceptional quality of their products and their impactful actions.”

With that in mind, Dominique and Diederik Hol, the founder of Cadomotus, “had several video calls during [Diederik’s] vacation in the Belgian Ardennes.” Dominique explains: “I see in him the same drive and perseverance that I possess, which is crucial for a successful collaboration. It didn’t take me long to say yes to our partnership. We gave Cadomotus complete freedom to design the perfect bag for our event.”

The partnership was born!

Exclusive equipment for elite athletes:
What's new for North American triathletes?

The Dutch brand may be relatively new to the triathlon scene, but it has already amply proven itself by revolutionizing its original sport: speed skating. The Cadomotus credo? Listening to athletes and providing them with ever more innovative technology to enhance their triathlon experience and performances.

Special Triathlon Bags

As part of that partnership with Challenge, Cadomotus came up with a collection of four distinct bags: Signed by Cadomotus and branded with the Challenge Family logo, they all have their distinctive features, and meet the needs of every athlete and every situation.
Whatever your needs, you're bound to find a bag to match!

  • The Airflow 2.0 for everyday training,
  • The water-resistant Versatile 2.0 for race days,
  • The Hybrid Transition for travel, convertible into a wheeled suitcase or a backpack,
  • The World Cup Race Day, combining style and functionality for a professional look on race days.

The Cadomotus x Challenge bags are now available to the Challenge community through Challenge Family online store and at Challenge events, including this weekend at Cap Québec!

Performance-Enhancing Products

Now with Challenge's comeback in North America, it is the perfect opportunity for North American triathletes to discover more about Cadomotus!
Cadomotus not only offers specialized bags, but also other top-of-the-line products such as bike shoes and helmets – which are also now available in the Challenge Family Online store!

Triathlon Shoes
For the short triathlon distances so popular in North America, the brand has created the Worldcup cycling shoe, specially designed for sprints where fast transitions are decisive: a single Velcro strap is all it takes! Ultralight and thermoformable for optimum comfort, the shoe hugs the foot perfectly and holds it in place, even without being tightened. Moreover, the sole is so thin that your energy is transferred without loss, directly from foot to pedal.

And if you're a long-distance specialist, take a look at the Chronos Aero shoe, with its aerodynamic design that will save you precious watts.

Triathlon Helmets
Here too, Cadomotus has developed options for every scenario. For short distances, the Omega is the obvious choice! It offers the best of both worlds: comfort and weight similar to a standard bike helmet, and aerodynamics close to those of an aero helmet.

Optimize your race:
How does the Cadomotus x Challenge partnership enrich your triathlon experience?

Taking triathlon to the next level: that’s Cadomotus’s and Challenge’s common goal.
And with this collaboration, everything –  from event to equipment – is designed for the comfort, performance and experience of participants.

By joining forces, the two brands now offer a complete and exceptional triathlon experience to the athletes of their communities: Challenge through exceptional races in iconic destinations, Cadomotus through innovative and personalized, high-quality products – which are now available to the Challenge community, at the races and on the Challenge Family online store.

The upcoming Sail Challenge Québec race, organized by Dominique Piché, will be a great example of a one-of-the kind event, and the first of many more, powered by this partnership!

Will you miss Cap Québec?
Or love it so much you want more? Good news: Two other Challenge races will take place in North America in 2024, including the Sail Challenge Esprit Montréal (September 6 to 8), which passes this year into the hands of Challenge and Dominique Piché!
And there is much to celebrate, as this year will also mark the 40th edition of the Montreal triathlon, renowned for its ideal conditions and unique course – imagine swimming in the Olympic Basin, biking on the Gilles-Villeneuve Formula 1 circuit, and running on the site of the 1976 Olympic Games!

The least to say is that Challenge comes back with a bang in North America!
